Paolo Manzone – Nebbiolo d’Alba Mirinè – 2022

A fantastic example of Nebbiolo from the Manzone winery, could not be outdone given the superb quality of its Barolo wines, however here Paolo wanted to demonstrate his great skill as a producer. The vineyard is located in Sinio not far from Serralunga d’Alba but in the Alta Langa area in fact the altitude exceeds 400 meters, clay soils with limestone layers and a 1970 planting facing southeast. Fermentations take place in steel tanks for a few weeks in contact with the skins, aging takes place in used 700-liter French oak tonneaux for 12 months. A bewitching wine that shows exuberant personality where you can feel the hand of the person who made it, hints of violet and cinnamon mixed with red fruit heralding a full and structured drink supported by excellent acidity and dense tannic texture.

Description

Serralunga d’Alba, one of the most renowned municipalities in the Barolo area, here stands a small winery run by Paolo Manzone and his wife Luisella.
Paolo true wine lover and oenologist, after years of consulting in various wineries, in ’99 he decided in agreement with his wife to start his own company. His unconventional style, somewhere between traditional and modern, made us fall in love from the first sip. Today the winery boasts 13 hectares cultivated mainly in the Meriame cru of Serralunga, in Sinio and in Roero for the production of the white Arneis, cared for in the smallest details with an almost maniacal attention, respecting the environment as much as possible.
