Paolo Manzone – Barolo del Comune di Serralunga d’Alba – 2017

Barolo del Comune di Serralunga d’Alba was created with the concept of assembling many vineyards of a specific village in order to produce a wine simpler and more immediate to drink, however exalting the soil of the area involved. In this case the Manzone family however uses a large part of the cru “Meriame” with a south-west exposure, plus micro pieces of vineyard within the commune of Serralunga. The wine is vinified in steel tanks and aged in both small and large casks for 24 months, plus 2 years in bottle. It is an opulent wine, with notes of orange zest and overripe fruit on the nose, in the mouth the tannins typical of Serralunga’s calcareous soils are quite clear, but the freshness and easy drinking make this Barolo a fantastic wine! Both to be appreciated now and kept over time.

Description

Serralunga d’Alba, one of the most renowned municipalities in the Barolo area, here stands a small winery run by Paolo Manzone and his wife Luisella.
Paolo true wine lover and oenologist, after years of consulting in various wineries, in ’99 he decided in agreement with his wife to start his own company. His unconventional style, somewhere between traditional and modern, made us fall in love from the first sip. Today the winery boasts 13 hectares cultivated mainly in the Meriame cru of Serralunga, in Sinio and in the Roero for the production of Arneis white wine, cared for in every detail with almost maniacal attention, respecting the environment as much as possible.
