Michele Chiarlo – Barolo Cannubi – 1997
Michele Chiarlo, more than eighty years of history, for one of the wineries that best represents territoriality precisely because the grapes used for their wines are native, Barbera, Nebbiolo, Cortese and Moscato the 4 pillars of Piedmont viticulture.
The winery was born in Calamandrana but today it has more than 100 hectares scattered throughout the territory. The company philosophy is very simple, quality and respect for the land, the wines are the essence of classicism and even the work done on their simplest wine is obsessive. Cannubi the historical heart of the whole Barolo area, the wines that come from this cru are distinguished by an elegant and at the same time austere tannicity, Michele Chiarlo has owned since 1989 about one hectare in one of the best exposures, the Barolo obviously obtained it can only surprise us, robust and opulent but at the same time elegant and fine on the palate. An exceptional bottle to drink on very special occasions. 1997, sure longevity, exceptional vintage, splendid wine of considerable complexity, elegant structure, exceptional harmony and great character.
