Mario Marengo – Nebbiolo d’Alba Valmaggiore – 2019

Historic winery founded in 1899 in the municipality of La Morra, classic family business. They cultivate only seven hectares of vineyards in the best exposures located between the Barolo area and Roero. Today it is Marco who leads the company, he still pursues the idea of ​​giving life to wines that are unequivocally local. The only change is the use of barriques, used however with great parsimony, no excess but masterly cleaning.
Nebbiolo d’Alba comes from the beautiful “Valmaggiore” vineyard, located in the municipality of Vezza d’Alba in Roero, which has always been considered one of the best in the area, due to its steep slopes and full southern exposure, perfect for maturation of Nebbioli. In this cru the soils are particularly sandy and rich in minerals, thus giving fruit to delicate wines, of great elegance, silky tannins with intense aromas of fruit. In this Nebbiolo you can savor the sensuality that this vineyard gives! A very elegant Nebbiolo yes … but with a nice tone on the finish! what a wine show!
