M.Chapoutier – Domaine Tournon – Lady’s Lane Shiraz – 2014
Legendary winemaker of the Rhone valley, pioneer of the parcel selection of organic agriculture, lover of wines and in the continuous search for the revelation of the terroir, Michel Chapoutier decided in the early 2000s, after several searches on the territory, to buy vineyards in the Victoria region, Australia.
The peculiarity of this area are the different types of soils and the surprising amount of microclimates, but the company’s philosophy is always the same: to create elegant wines that respect the terroir of the vineyard from which they come.
All Tournon wines come from the state of Victoria but are part of different appellations. On the famous red soil rich in iron in the Heatcote cru, the company’s most important wine is produced, a pure Shiraz. Thanks to the particular terroir and very low yields, this wine will make anyone fall in love, spicy, full-bodied, tannic, strong in one surprising word!
