Gravner – Rosso Breg – 2004

We are in the wine area between Italy and Slovenia, Oslavia a small hamlet, where the Gravner farm was born in 1901. In the 80s Josko Gravner started working in the cellar practicing a traditional viticulture but he was not satisfied with this type of work and after some trips to the Caucasus, from the 90s he decided to get rid of all the technology purchased and work in a decidedly unconventional way , creating a unique and unmistakable style. In the 15 hectares of vineyards, the work carried out is nothing short of maniacal, methods that lead back to the most ancient beliefs of the territory without the use of synthetic products, the cellar has no modern facilities, the amphorae from the Caucasus are the protagonists!
Pignolo, whose diffusion is almost exclusively limited to the Friuli region, is a plant with a rather small cluster that produces wines with full and elegant aromas, good concentration, marked acidity and dense tannic texture. From the oldest vineyard belonging to the family, with unparalleled care and passion Josko Gravner produces a Pignolo in purity, an incredible wine for the concentration of aromas, for its depth and its surprising harmony.
