Giodo – Brunello di Montalcino – 2015
Giodo was born thanks to the love for Sangiovese by Carlo Ferrini, recognized worldwide as one of the best oenologists in Italy. In 2002 he bought a hectare of vineyard in Montalcino, thus crowning his great passion for wine with a personal project. Nowadays Giodo cultivates only 6 hectares of Sangiovese grapes for Brunello di Montalcino and Rosso Toscana IGT. The style of the estate is to produce balanced and simple wines, using a sustainable agriculture, low yields, maximum selection of grapes, and aging in French barrels. In few words Giodo wines represent class!
For Brunello di Montalcino only the best selected bunches are used. The wine is aged for 30 months in 700 liter barrels, plus 18 months in bottle. Only 10000 bottles produced in the 2015 vintage, it looks like a very charming wine, delicate, not exuberant, slightly full but with a great finesse. Great bottle.
