Georg Breuer – Riesling Berg Schlossberg – 2012
The company was founded in 1880 in the German wine-growing region of Rheingau, the spiritual heart of German wine, the birthplace of riesling and where the most historic vineyards are planted by Cistercian monks.
The company’s wines are born from 30 hectares of property, including 23 in the best Rudesheim vineyards and 7 hectares in Reuenthal where the slopes are very steep.
The philosophy is to operate “as little as possible in the cellar”, aging in wood, staying on the lees and malolactic fermentation.
The wines are of the highest level with great wealth and concentration.
Berg Schlossberg the Grand cru facing south of Rudesheim is characterized by slate and clay, ideal for the ripening of the grapes, an amazing wine that expresses itself in the mouth with elegance and persistence. A dry wine that needs time to express its best qualities but that already gives us emotions when we are young.
