Frerejean Frères – Champagne Premier Cru Extra Brut
One of the outstanding Champagnes for taste and workmanship, a calling card to know what the Maison and the Cote de Blanc can offer in this perfect fusion. A cuvée composed of several vintages of 50% Chardonnay and 50% Pinot Noir all from Premier Cru plots, the vines are 40 years old with reduced grape production but with incredible concentration and expression of the chalk-rich terroir. Separate vinifications of the grapes in steel tanks, before draught the Tete de cuvée is largely used, i.e., the noblest part of the must after the first pressing so as to give remarkable finesse, and finally a stay on the lees of a minimum of 5 years. Metered bubble Extra brut, it impresses at first olfactory impact with toasted and candied hints for evolution, in the mouth it reveals superlative structural elegance with energetic acidity and recognizable saline traits that extend the final length.

Description
One Maison that has been able to enchant in recent years with amazing bubbles is Frerejean Frères, which has now become a permanent cornerstone of the young Champagne realities. It was founded by brothers Guillaume, Rodolphe and Richard belonging to the Taittinger family (among the most famous in the region) in 2005 in Avize in the Cote de Blanc, deciding to develop a new small project separate from the main activity but with the intention of always producing bubbles of winning quality according to their history. A few hectares of vineyards all in the commune of Avize where they grow Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in 25 plots classified Premier and Grand Cru of fine quality due to the complex soils of the area where grapes and wines are absolutely unique and famous. An authentic translation also here in the ways and techniques on how to intervene from the vineyard to the cellar in the least invasive way possible, respect for the territory with eco-sustainable methods and careful selection of the bunches while in the vinifications they prefer steel tanks and above all long aging on the lees of 5-7 years with periodic controls and remuage by tradition. True artisans of quality!
