Fratelli Alessandria – Barolo Monvigliero – 2015
We are in Verduno, one of the most solitary communes which fascinates for its elegant and sensual wines, here since 1870 Alessandria family has been running this small winery with passion and great respect for the land.
Twelve hectares (12 acres) located in the best cru of Verduno and Monforte cultivated with great meticulousness and attention, in the winery the respect for traditions and for the cultural values of the territory are at the base of the winery’s experience which in fact we will find in their wines characterized by grace and power.
Monvigliero has always been considered the most valuable vineyard in the municipality of Verduno, with its exposure almost all to the south, located on a hilltop enjoys a slightly cooler climate, giving the wines an incomparable finesse. Alessandria family owns less than 2 hectares in this historic cru, for them this vineyard represents the flagship wine of the winery. Plants 40 years old, soils rich in sand, very low yields, the wine is aged for 30 months in large oak barrels and it is a wine full of aromas, character, with fine but persistent tannins. An amiable wine with great evolutionary capacity.
