Francesco Rinaldi e Figli – Barolo Rocche dell’Annunziata – 2020
Barolo “ Rocche dell’Annunziata ” is being produced for the first time in the centuries-long history of the Rinaldi winery in the 2018 vintage. This celebrated vineyard is located under the commune of La Morra and boasts, thanks to its full-south amphitheater-shaped exposure, to be one of the absolute best in the entire Barolo appellation. Prior to this vintage the grapes from this vineyard were included for the production of Barolo Classico, but due to the age of the vines, the winery decided to separate this cru giving not inconsiderable results. This vineyard is famous not only for the beautiful location where it is possible to produce 100% nebbiolo for Barolo, but also for the white soils, rich in limestone, sand and silt, giving the wines heady aromas, longevity, acidity and freshness and sweeter tannins.

Description
There are still some wineries in Langa where time seems to have stopped at the last century, where you can still breathe that genuineness and traditionality where wines are always produced with the same humility and passion. The Francesco Rinaldi e Figli winery represents all this in my opinion, established in 1870 in the historic farmstead located on the hilltop of the Cannubi vineyard, it has always specialized in the production of typical Piedmontese red wines such as Barolo, Nebbiolo, Barbera and Dolcetto, still partly vinified in cement tanks and aged in huge oak barrels. The winery manages 11 hectares located among the best Barolo parcels, such as Cannubi, Brunate, Rocche dell’Annunziata, Vignane, Sarmassa and Codana.
