Francesco Rinaldi e Figli – Barolo Cannubi Riserva – 2019

Barolo Cannubi in the Riserva version is rarely produced and only in the best vintages, to crown the potential that this vineyard gives to the wine. Plants in the highest part of the vineyard aged 60 to 35 years are used; the wine, after a slow 30-day fermentation, is aged for 42 months in large oak barrels and then goes to the bottle where it rests for an additional 2 years. The production is particularly limited of just over 1,000 bottles. A sacred bottle, it perfectly represents the true essence of the Cannubi cru, where the union of the two opposite geological formations gives Barolo both elegance and structure. Superb wine with enormous aging potential.

Description

There are still some wineries in Langa where time seems to have stopped at the last century, where you can still breathe that genuineness and traditionality where wines are always produced with the same humility and passion. The Francesco Rinaldi e Figli winery represents all this in my opinion, established in 1870 in the historic farmstead located on the hilltop of the Cannubi vineyard, it has always specialized in the production of typical Piedmontese red wines such as Barolo, Nebbiolo, Barbera and Dolcetto, still partly vinified in cement tanks and aged in huge oak barrels. The winery manages 11 hectares located among the best Barolo parcels, such as Cannubi, Brunate, Rocche dell’Annunziata, Vignane, Sarmassa and Codana.
