Edoardo Sobrino – Barolo Monvigliero – 2014
Edoardo Sobrino a winemaker for passion, an entrepreneur who inherited the passion for wine from his ancestors, so in the early 2000s he decided to transform his “obsession” into a real business.
The vineyards are located between Verduno and Diano d’Alba, his work is meticulous, very low yields do not exceed the kilogram of grapes per plant, the cultivation is completely natural and traditional vinification is also carried out in the cellar, without adding yeasts.
The use of wood is fundamental in Edoardo’s cellar, as it does not favor the large barrel or barrique but tries to adapt it every year to the needs of his wine.
Monvigliero the “Grand Cru” of Verduno, as well as the most fitting example of that elegance which is the hallmark of the best Barolo wines of this town, from here Sobrino produces a fabulously balanced wine, full, soft but with a fresh finish and tannin not too pungent.
