Description
Delamotte is one of the most prestigious Champagne houses in the world. It was established in 1760 by Francois Delamotte in Reims, and it is the fifth oldest winery in Champagne.
Thanks to the purchase of a small property in the commune of Mesnil sur Oger in the Cote des Blancs, one of the best Grand Cru for Chardonnay grape, it is possible to see a qualitative rebirth of the winery. The choice of this purchase was just to be closer to the best suppliers of grapes, in fact the winery’s headquarter is still located there.
The style of the winery improved in the 1970’s thanks to the arrival of Bordeaux enologist Alain Terrier, where he refined the technique and the style of Champagne by trying to eliminate the aging in wood casks, but preferring only steel tanks in order to exalt the crispness and acidity of Chardonnay. Another fundamental step for Delamotte’s maison was the purchase in the 1980’s of the historical and prestigious winery: Salon. Two parallel projects, but two very important wineries for quality in the world!!!!
Prestigious wines, with crisp bubbles, immediate with long persistence, from vintage to the simplest cuvée, Delamotte brand is an absolute guarantee if you like freshness and great acidity!!!
