Damilano – Barolo Brunate – 2011
Damilano is one of the first wineries in Barolo town. It was founded by the great-grandfather of the current owners at the end of the 1800s, but it will be from the next generation that it will take a concrete form by starting to sell the first bottles. Since 1997 with the fourth generation led by Guido, Mario, Paolo Damilano have been able to grasp the potential of Nebbiolo, especially Barolo, promoting their wines all over the world.
In addition, the winery boasts some of the best owned vineyards in the Barolo area: Liste, Brunate, Cerequio and Cannubi, located between the municipalities of La Morra and Barolo, very different from each other, but all with excellent potential.
Finally, the style of the cellar has remained rather traditional, but without forgetting some avant-garde techniques! The wines of the Damilano family are a standard-bearer for the Langhe and Barolo. Classic, refined, austere!
The Barolo Brunate comes from the vineyard of the same name located in La Morra, one of the best vineyards in the entire production area thanks to its privileged position in the south. The soils here are sandy and rich in calcium, typical of the highest area of the appellation, but also with a good part of clay, thus giving wines that are both fine but also of strong character. Their Brunate shows hints of violet and ripe fruit, but also tobacco, structured in the mouth, but the part of elegance and harmony prevails.
