Crivelli – Grignolino d’Asti – 2021

Grignolino is considered as “the whitest of reds and the reddest of whites”, because of its very light red color it is often confused as a rose wine, however it is a wine with good structure and tannins, famous for being matched with fatty fish.
It is particularly good in Monferrato, and it is one of the vines with more history in Piedmont, there are evidences mentioning it in 700 AD. Thanks to the higher number of seeds, it is rich in tannins, sometimes being compared to Nebbiolo, but the aromas are more delicate, as well as colors and in the mouth it is fresher with less structure despite it gives very dry wines.
In this case the wine is vinified and aged in cement tanks and bottle. A with spicy notes, dry and slightly warm. Wine for the whole meal, but never banal.

Crivelli winery is located in Castagnole Monferrato, a village of 1000 inhabitants in the lower part of Monferrato. This area has become more and more famous for its excellent foods and wines, but above all for its red berried vine Ruchè, where in the 1980s it was also awarded with the DOCG appellation.
The winery was officially established in 1986, however it has been making wine and selling grapes since the end of the 1800’s, today the winery owns a total of 8 hectares of vineyards, cultivated with the highest respect for the land, completely eliminating chemical products. Despite it is a very small winery, Crivelli winery, thanks to the goodness of its wines such as Ruchè and Grignolino, has been able to make itself known all over the world. Technically perfect wines, where they perfectly exalt the organoleptic characteristics of each autochthonous vine of Monferrato. Pleasing wines, fresh, but never banal. In short, their wines will make you go out of your mind.
