Ca’ Viola – Dolcetto d’Alba Borturot – 2016
The Ca ‘Viola Winery was born from the fruit of an unconditional love for wine. In 1991 the winemaker Beppe Caviola, thanks to the advice of the renowned Barolo producer, Elio Altare, produced his first wine, a Dolcetto, in a small vineyard in Montelupo Albese. Today the company boasts 14 hectares and alongside the historic Dolcetto and Barbera labels they also produce a Barolo. From the hills of the wolves of Dogliani, and from here to Barolo, the Caviola family has come a long way, but without ever abandoning their philosophy of simplicity and excellence.
Dolcetto d’Alba “Barturot” is the historic label of the company, the first ever to be produced. The name derives from the vineyard of the same name rented by Beppe and today the plants are more than 70 years old, the result is surprising. An intense and complex Dolcetto, full-bodied and powerful but always very drinkable.
