Brezza – Barolo Sarmassa – 2016
The Brezza winery is located in the center of the town of Barolo and was founded in 1885, but from 1910 it starts to bottle its own wine. Today we are in the fourth generation, but the dimensions of the cellar are always the same and the management is absolutely familiar.
Their philosophy is to vinify each vineyard individually to enhance every type of soil and to work in the vineyard and cellar cleanly, not using pesticides and only large barrels for aging, so much so that they have been certified organic for more than 20 years.
Barolo Sarmassa comes from the homonymous vineyard, located in the municipality of Barolo on the border with the town of La Morra where the soils are rich in sand and silt and layers of clay. The location of this vineyard is one of the most beautiful, a full south, so much so that the elderly consider it one of the most beautiful areas for the quality of the Baroli. The Brezza winery interprets it in a super traditional style without covering the characteristics and scents that this parcel gives. It is a very fragrant wine, with herbaceous and fruity hints, but with a balanced palate, fine but with delicate tannins and a long persistence. In short, a very pleasant wine to drink, but with a great ability to age and to be accompanied to a nice dinner.
