Brezza – Barolo Cannubi – 2016
The Brezza winery is located in the center of the town of Barolo and was founded in 1885, but from 1910 it starts to bottle its own wine. Today we are in the fourth generation, but the dimensions of the cellar are always the same and the management is absolutely familiar.
Their philosophy is to vinify each vineyard individually to enhance every type of soil and to work in the vineyard and cellar cleanly, not using pesticides and only large barrels for aging, so much so that they have been certified organic for more than 20 years.
Having vineyards on the Cannubi hill is no small feat … few wineries have the privilege of having a few pieces of hectare, and the Brezza family is one of them! This vineyard gives fruits with superior aging potential and aromas and sweetness that no other vine can give. In a nutshell it is a mythical vineyard, so much so that it was already mentioned in 1752 in a bottle, an era among other things where wine production was not so well known. Cannubi gives austere wines, with aromas of dog rose and nose spices with super balanced tannins and acidity, thanks to the union of the two soils of sand and clay that are concentrated right on the same hill. This wine fully represents these characteristics, a wine to drink at least once in a lifetime!
