Barale – Barolo Riserva Cannubi – 2005
Barale winery is located just in the historical center of Barolo, it has very solid roots, it was established in 1870, and in those years it contributed to the birth of Barolo wine together with Marchesa Falletti and Camillo Benso Count of Cavour.
Nowadays it is always the same family to manage the small artisanal winery, where the philosophy has remained unchanged, just with the purpose of producing wines with a traditional style, respecting every vine and soil, in order not to alter the characteristics of the wine.
Vineyards are mainly located between the commune of Barolo and Monforte d’Alba, where they cultivate, besides the majestic Nebbiolo da Barolo, also Barbera, Nebbiolo, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
Moreover, the winery has a special care for the territory, the vineyards and the cleanliness, so much so that it is certified for organic farming.
The most ancient bottle of Langhe bears the writing “Cannubi 1752”. This precious heirloom proves this cru was already famous even before the advent of Barolo, the prestige of Cannubi has never known disgrace, on the contrary it has always served to give prestige to the wineries which bought its grapes or, even better, owned small plots of it. Barale winery has always produced a fantastic representation of this vineyard, refined, complex and intense. A wine for the most refined palates!
2005 thanks to the early season and the never too hot and sultry summer, this vintage can be safely defined as classic. Reticent wines that are only granted after a good period of aging in glass.
