Barale – Barbaresco Serraboella – 2008 – MG

Barale winery is located just in the historical center of Barolo’s commune, it has very solid roots, it was established in 1870, and in those years it contributed to the birth of Barolo wine together with Marchesa Falletti and Camillo Benso Count of Cavour.
Nowadays it is always the same family to manage the small artisanal winery, where the philosophy has remained unchanged, just with the purpose of producing wines with a traditional style, respecting every vine and soil, in order not to alter the characteristics of the wine.
Vineyards are mainly located between the commune of Barolo and Monforte d’Alba, where they cultivate, besides the majestic Nebbiolo da Barolo, also Barbera, Nebbiolo, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
Moreover, the winery cares so much about the territory, vineyards and cleanliness as to be certified for organic farming.
Serraboella, a cru in the commune of Neive, thanks to the excellent exposure and light soils, the wines obtained have a respectable structure and are endowed with a certain roughness which characterizes them. Since 1969 Barale winery has been producing a Barbaresco which best represents the properties of the territory from which it comes from, a wine of character, with good crispness and with sensual and persistent tannins.

Productive Notes:Soft pressing and destemming of the grapes; static fermentation in oak vats with indigenous yeasts selected from the grapes of our vineyards; subsequent maceration for about 30 days with frequent spraying of the skins.
Aging: in French oak barrels of medium capacity (15-30 hl) for 2 years with a minimum of necessary racking. It does not undergo any kind of chemical-physical clarification and stabilization before bottling. Aging in bottle for at least 12 months.
