Antinori – Solaia – 1998 – MG
The Antinori are one of the most historic families as regards the Italian wine scene. The history of the family dates back to 1385 in Florence in Tuscany and today after 26 generations, it boasts a production of wines in several estates in Tuscany and Umbria, famous all over the world. Despite its traditional origins, the family has always had an eye for experimentation with new clones or the use of international vines, so much so that it has created iconic wines worldwide such as the Super Tuscan Tignanello, Solaia.
Solaia comes from the most beautiful part of the Tignanello vineyard, in the heart of Chianti, produced precisely with the assembly of international grapes such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and a small part of the symbolic grape of Tuscany, namely Sangiovese.
It is a great red produced since 1978 only in the best vintages, a symbolic wine of the Antinori family, precious to drink and coveted all over the world. A refined and powerful wine, to be kept absolutely over time.
This 1998 magnum looks like a sweet, soft wine, with silky tannins and aromas of overripe fruit. What a Wine!
