Stefano Gagliasso – Langhe Nebbiolo – 2023
Stefano’s winemaking career began with the production of his first Langhe Nebbiolo, a perfect business card to showcase his work. Dedicated to his grandfather who passed on to him his love for the vineyard, it is a vineyard in the Berri hamlet in La Morra facing north in a position that gives great freshness to the wines. Manual harvesting, fermentation and maceration in steel tanks with subsequent rest in the same containers for a few months, just over 2000 bottles. Despite its simplicity, it transmits an incredible fragrance and richness, red fruit with the typical violet in the background that on the palate proves elegant with beautiful acidity and splendid smoothness.

In recent years, the Langa has been a panorama of new young producers, many young people who have courageously decided to follow in the footsteps of their family, among these we find Stefano Gagliasso. A boy from La Morra, growing up among the vineyards he established a bond and a great passion for wine, despite having followed a different course of studies, he has never abandoned that world that has led him over the years to work at various wineries including Paolo Scavino. His story begins thanks to his grandfather with whom he spent a lot of time in the family vineyards as a child, in fact thanks to the experience gained he also decides to dive into this world finally deciding to produce his first label. Vineyards in the Berri hamlet where he grows Nebbiolo and a small part of Barbera putting into practice his own winemaking training of environmental respect and skill in the cellar in the winemaking processes. We are only at the beginning … but the premises are already excellent for the future.
