Cantina del Pino – Barbaresco Albesani – 2020
Albesani, a cru located in Neive at the highest part of the Gallina vineyard, is rich in sandy/clay soils and enjoys a southwestern exposure, giving the Nebbiolos more softness and pleasantness. Here the winery produces about 3,000 bottles of Barbaresco, where the wine, after vinification in steel tanks, rests in large wooden barrels for 24 months. Description
Cantina del Pino is one of the oldest estates in the Barbaresco area; the pine tree from which the winery is named was planted by the great agronomist and undisputed father of Barbaresco, Domizio Cavazza. The winery’s history dates back to 1920, when Giuseppe Vacca bought the entire property from his friend Cavazza, but only in 1997 did the winery officially begin bottling and selling its first wines, given the historic collaboration with the famous cooperative ” Produttori del Barbaresco “. Today the winery owns 7 hectares of vineyards, most of which are in the Ovello cru and small parts in the famous Gallina and Albesani cru.
Few bottles produced, quality not quantity this has always been the winery’s philosophy, maximum respect for the rhythms of the land to obtain wines that fully reflect the terroir. Study and meticulous work are part of the daily routine to obtain wines of great impact that offer a modern yet traditional interpretation of an area that has always been home to great wines.
