Sandrone – Barolo Aleste – 2019 – MG

Barolo “Aleste” comes from the single vineyard Cannubi Boschis, a historic cru produced since the 1970s by Luciano Sandrone; since 2013 it has been called “ALESTE” as a tribute to the grandchildren who represent the present and future of the Sandrone winery. ALESTE is in fact the union of the first names of his grandchildren Alessia and Stefano. Cannubi Boschis is the tip of the Cannubi vineyard, slightly more sheltered with gentler slopes, here the nebbiolos enjoy southeast exposure and mixed sand and clay soils giving the wines great complexity and elegance. This is probably one of the most balanced vineyards in the entire Barolo area. In this case the wine, after spontaneous fermentation in steel tanks, underwent malolactic fermentation and aging in 500-liter French oak tonneaux for 2 years plus 18 months in the bottle.

Description

Luciano Sandrone is one of the most famous names when it comes to Barolo. The winery was born in the late 1970s, with Luciano’s dream of producing territorial Barolos, but above all great wines.
The project took shape when Luciano bought a small part of the Cannubi Boschis vineyard, considered one of the best for the power and longevity it gives to Barolos.
In a short time Sandrone’s Barolo Bricco Boschis, was recognized worldwide thanks to scores of 97 and 100 cents given by international journalist Robert Parker.
The winery’s production over the years expanded, including a new barolo on the market as ” Le Vigne ” produced precisely by blending several first-class vineyards throughout the Barolo area, and Valmaggiore nebbiolo, dolcetto and barbera. The winery today has also seen the entry of Luciano’s children and grandchildren, and boasts 50 years of history, always remaining a small family business.
Sandrone’s wines have contributed to the fame and promotion of Barolo in the World; they are full, complex, austere and sophisticated wines. Great Wines.
