Borgo dei Posseri – Trento DOC Tananai Metodo Classico Brut Nature – 2017

Trento Doc reflects all the mountain essence of fragrance and minerality produced exclusively from Pinot Noir grapes, the quintessential bubbly among the most celebrated in Italy and the first to follow a regulated specification since 1993. This flagship bubbly of the selection is a cuveè of 100% Pinot Noir; the vineyards are located at 700 m on compact soils where the high temperature range ensures ripeness and aromaticity. The grapes are vinified in steel tanks for 8 months, then aged on the lees for 50 months before disgorgement. Fantastic vintage with zero dosage is ample in fruity and floral aromas, intense in the drink to highlight a remarkable structure and acidity but with deep freshness and elegance. One word “Wow!”

Description

In the Dolomites, in Ala in the province of Trento at the foot of Pozzo Mountain, lies Martin Mainenti’s Borgo dei Posseri winery with a centuries-old history behind it. An area that has always been distinguished for its enormous respect for the environment and for the vocated production of TrentoDoc bubbly, a classic method produced exclusively in these areas. The winery’s estates extend between 550/890 m for 230 hectares, of which 21 are planted with vines where we find many guyot-trained varieties such as Muller Thurgau, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from the best European nurseries that on these clay/limestone soils have found their right size. By means of a complex of terraces located at different heights, each characterized by a type of microclimate, the various types of terroir for each grape variety are enhanced. Producers of high-altitude wines, they have employed modern, precise and careful winemaking techniques where the bubbles linger in a long rest on the lees and the pure wines are very identifiable aged in both steel and wood, with an alpine aromaticity with a high territorial value.
