La Morandina – Moscato d’Asti – 2022

A very pleasant label of Moscato to drink in company, the classic dessert pairing that cannot be missed at the table. Among the first bottles produced by the winery, the vineyards are located in Castiglione Tinella in some of the most vocated areas for this grape where the harvest is done manually and fermentation occurs naturally in large stainless steel autoclaves for the “presa di spuma” that lasts only a month. The result is a fat and persistent wine, heady aromaticity with mentholated notes and on drinking it maintains the prerequisites that is freshness and savoriness in which real grape juice is perceived.

Description

A small winery with centuries of origin behind it, the Morando family has always resided in Castiglione Tinella, an egregious area for the production of Moscato in Langa. In 1988 with a desire to get involved, brothers Giulio and Paolo Morando started “La Morandina” located on the top of the Morandini hill producing the first family labels. The luck is to own and cultivate several hectares scattered in some of the most vocated areas of the territory, Neive in the DOCG Barbaresco for Nebbiolo, Montegrosso d’Asti in the Astigiano for Barbera in addition to Moscato along with Chardonnay within the estate. Despite the young history, the mentality very much respects the tradition of the past that has always been included in the Modus Operandi, the work in the vineyards is manual and natural so as to preserve the purity of the raw material, while in the cellar the use of technologies powered by renewable sources is used to encourage production, and the correct aging in small barrels or stainless steel tanks depending on the grape variety to enhance their expression. A true link between past, present and future.
