Chateau Lafaurie-Peyraguey – Sauternes 1er Grand Cru Classé – 2009
Château Lafaurie – Peyraguey is located in the southern part of Bordeaux region, precisely in the Sauternes area and has a privileged position as it is close to the famous Chateau d’Yquem. Historical winery, founded in the thirteenth century, was one of the first ones to have the honor of being included in the classification of Grand Cru Classé in 1855.
The Chateau cultivates 40 hectares mainly with Semillon grape, and a small part with Sauvignon and Muscadelle, producing great sweet raisin wines, a real nectar, thanks to the late harvesting helped by the mists coming from the small river Ciron which contributes to the natural formation of noble rot. A real gem. few bottles produced, a real boutique!
