Marcarini – Barolo La Serra – 2012

The history of Poderi Marcarini begins in the mid-19th century, with the founder Giuseppe Tarditi, a journey made up of intuitions, hard work and effort to reach today the sixth generation and a total of 25 hectares of vineyards between Langhe and Roero. The company owns some of the best crus of Barolo, La Serra and Brunate grown with special care and attention without using chemicals and adopting a targeted pruning system to obtain clean, fresh and highly expressive wines. Today, as then, the company has only one claim, to enclose the perfection of quality in the wines. Brunate, a cru whose vineyards are divided between the municipalities of Barolo and La Morra, a single side which has always been considered among the best for the production of Barolo thanks to its exceptional exposure.
La Serra, a cru in the municipality of La Morra, the wines that come from this mention are distinguished by a fresh and crunchy style. Marcarini has plants with an average age of 30 years and at an average altitude of 380 meters, it produces a very representative Barolo, good structure, flavor and never excessively tannic.
2012, a fresher vintage that gave us great wines played on verticality and slightly rough tannins, but with a pleasant freshness and excellent complexity.
