Beringer – Cabernet Sauvignon Knights Valley – 2015

The history of Beringer wines dates back to 1868, when the Beringer brothers from Germany decided to embark on the new world and to seek a future in America. The two found fertile and rocky soils in Napa Valley, very similar to their birthplace in Germany, so they decided to buy 80 hectares and give way to wine production. They were among the first to focus on quality, so much so that they dug entire tunnels underground for aging and preserve the wines at a constant temperature of 14 degrees. Of course they are also among the pioneers for viticulture in Napa! They mainly produce Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlot and Zinfandel and now a century after the foundation of the winery, it is the great-grandson Mark who continues to carry on the project. Despite being a rather large winery, the quality standard is very high, to be recognized every year with prizes and awards.
Cabernet Sauvignon Knights Valley is produced in the same area 27 km from the estate where the soils are alluvial rocks, giving rise to wines with great potential to be recognized by the AVA as the quality system of America. It is a wine made with the typical blend of Bordeaux, with a large part of Cabernet and a small part of Merlot and Petit Verdot, aged for almost two years in wood. A masterpiece! A wine with aromas of tobacco, overripe fruit and vegetable notes, and its creaminess in the mouth will win you over !!
