Vietti – Barbera d’Alba Vigna Scarrone – 2013
We are talking about the end of 1800’s, when Carlo Vietti founded the winery in the small town of Castiglione Falletto, understanding since the beginning the great potentialities that this territory could have. In 1919 his son Mario started producing the first wines. However the history of the winery was marked by the great enologist Alfredo Currado, the first ever to vinify single vineyards and in 1961 Barolo “Rocche di Castiglione” was released on the market.
Today the winery is one of the most important ones of the whole Barolo area, in fact in 2016 it was bought by the American Krause Holdings, allowing the family to enlarge their patrimony while continuing to produce wines of great territoriality and value.
A Barbera lady from a single cru of Castiglione Falletto, Scarrone, aroma, body, structure and also a good acidity on the finish. In short, a perfectly balanced wine perfect for any occasion. 2013, a vintage for true connoisseurs, wines with character, austere, complex, deep and with great aging power.
