Vietti – Barolo Ravera – 2015
We are talking about the end of 1800’s, when Carlo Vietti founded the winery in the small town of Castiglione Falletto, understanding since the beginning the great potentialities that this territory could have. In 1919 his son Mario started producing the first wines. However the history of the winery was marked by the great enologist Alfredo Currado, the first ever to vinify single vineyards and in 1961 Barolo “Rocche di Castiglione” was released on the market.
Today the winery is one of the most important ones of the whole Barolo area, in fact in 2016 it was bought by the American Krause Holdings, allowing the family to enlarge their patrimony while continuing to produce wines of great territoriality and value.
Ravera is one of the most important crus in the entire Barolo area, which on a stylistic level offers a range of expressions ranging from the most mineral to the most tannic, never lacking in elegance. Here the Vietti family has always owned vineyards in fantastic exposures, from plants that even reach 65 years of age, produces a wine of great character, a traditional Barolo that will reach the apex of its expressiveness in a few years. 2015,vintage with slightly milder temperatures that brought us extraordinarily complex, ready and very pleasant wines.
