Giovanni Viberti – Barbera d’Alba Superiore Bricco Airoli – 2018
Giovanni Viberti one of the most historic wineries ever in the entire Barolo area, the company was actually born as an inn back in 1923, the wine was produced in the basement and then served to its guests, in 1927 the first vintage of the Buon Padre, the style is traditional, fermentation is still carried out in wooden vats and aging in large 50-hectolitre barrels. Today we have reached the third generation, 10 hectares cultivated with the utmost respect for the land, selecting the best grapes thus reducing quantities and increasing quality. The fragrance, freshness and richness present in all its wines has always impressed us.
Barbera d’Alba Bricco Airoli is produced with grapes from two different vineyards in the Bricco delle Viole Cru where the plants are 60 to 70 years old. The work done on this Barbera is extremely meticulous, so much so that it has been defined as a “Barolo” wine. A bottle that gives us emotions from the first sip, full, enveloping and sensual. But I assure you that you will not stop at the first sip!
