Here in Serralunga d’Alba, which has always been considered one of the pillars of the Barolo appellation, is the birthplace of the Schiavenza winery, which for over seventy years has been giving us wines of great structure, complexity and closely linked to the territory from which they come.
\nThe style is super traditional, in the vineyard the yields are low,the work maniacal in search of continuous perfection, in the winery the same work, still carrying out the fermentations in wood and aging in large oak barrels. The winery manages just under 10 hectares with a total production of 50000 bottles divided between Dolcetto, Barbera, Nebbiolo and Barolo. In particular, the winery pays attention to the production of a few limited bottles of Barolo, subdivided in different vineyards all located in Serralunga, but respecting, indeed enhancing the peculiarity that each exposure and soil can give. In a nutshell, this is one of the smallest and most genuine realities, still trying to preserve the real Langa traditions and winemaking methods, trying to produce real, representative wines without being scared of old scool style or too hard tannins. Broglio is located on the east, southeast side of Serraluga almost on the border of the Barolo DOCG. Thanks to the more sheltered and cooler exposure with soils rich in tufa marl, the wines have well-balanced tannins and acidity, where balsamic notes and tight tannins are the main sensations this parcel can give. The Riserva version is not produced every year, only in the most deserving vintages, where the wine performs the longest aging of almost 4 years in oak barrels and 2 in bottle. In this case the wine manages to develop a much more complex, almost herbaceous and goudron aromatic part, with really powerful tannins and an important future perspective. Absolute king!<\/p>\n
