It is located in Collio halfway between Italy and Slovenia, a borderland that saw it play a leading role in old Yugoslavia during the Tito years as the main supplier of wine in his regime. Now the winery, led by Alesh Kristancic, has 25 hectares in which Ribolla, Istrian Malvasia, Chardonnay and also Merlot along with Cabernet Sauvignon are grown, all following a natural philosophy in which biodynamics are practiced, which earned certification in 2004. An innovative and rigorous style is practiced in the winery where the wines make long macerations on the skins, ferment with indigenous yeasts, clarification and filtration performed before bottling. Among the few ever in the production of bubbles sold to the public to be disgorged at opening, so that purity is the basis that distinguishes them.
