Without losing the origins of farmers, Elio Grasso, together with his wife, in the &#8217;70s gave a qualitative change to the wines first of all and to the vineyards, replanting them one by one, selecting each parcel of Nebbiolo, but also focusing on international varieties such as Chardonnay. The winery is located in the Ginestra vineyard, on the eastern side of the commune of Monforte, considered since ancient times the best vineyard of the village, but also one of the most complex because of the soils rich in blue marl.<br \/>\nThe winery manages 42 hectares of land between woods and vineyards, and since the 1980&#8217;s has decided to give a great importance to the different soil types of the Ginestra cru by vinifying separately two micro subzones: Casa Mat\u00e8 and Gavarini.
