Paolo Manzone – Barolo Meriame – 2018

Meriame, a vineyard that has risen to prominence only fairly recently thanks to its limestone-rich soils and distinctive amphitheater shape in more than optimal exposures, manages to give us earthy wines of beautiful substance. Here Paolo Manzone harvests grapes from vines more than 70 years old producing a wine with a strong character, perfectly balanced and with a tannic and persistent finish. In 2018 Paolo demonstrated his immense passion and ability to produce great Baroli, despite the adversity caused by the rains that hit the Langa, leading to a late and cooler harvest. Only thanks to a massive selection of the vineyard, Paolo managed to bring home healthy grapes with good polyphenolic ripening, maintaining the winery’s high quality standard with more than amazing results. Always a guarantee.

Description

Serralunga d’Alba, one of the most renowned municipalities in the Barolo area, here stands a small winery run by Paolo Manzone and his wife Luisella.
Paolo true wine lover and oenologist, after years of consulting in various wineries, in ’99 he decided in agreement with his wife to start his own company. His unconventional style, somewhere between traditional and modern, made us fall in love from the first sip. Today the winery boasts 13 hectares cultivated mainly in the Meriame cru in Serralunga, in Sinio and in the Roero for the production of Arneis white wine, cared for in every detail with almost maniacal attention, respecting the environment as much as possible.
