Marisa Cuomo – Costa d’Amalfi Bianco – 2021

One of their whites produced to be enjoyed immediately and get a sense of the wonders of the Amalfi Coast. A blend of 60% Falanghina and 40% Biancolella with terraced, south-facing vineyards around 400 meters in the towns of Cetara and Raito where the soils are rich in limestone and mineral. Grapes harvested by hand, fermented and aged in steel tanks for a few months with subsequent rest in the bottle for another few months. An eccentric wine, floral and herbal aromas, almond and toasted sensations in the mouth without precluding freshness. Very Mediterranean.

Description

When people talk about Marisa Cuomo’s wines, they mention one of the world’s benchmark and quality wineries in southern Italy. We are in Furore, a small village and jewel on the Amalfi Coast, with landscapes that are unique in the world: you will not find here the classic vineyards, but terraces overlooking the sea, microscopic pieces of land torn from the rock. They talk about heroic viticulture, and this is how the couple Andrea Ferraioli and Marisa Cuomo have been cultivating their 10 hectares of vines since the 1980s. Both white and red terroir wines, with the exclusive use of indigenous grape varieties, but with very high manufacturing, so much so that they are recognized among the finest wines in Italy.
