Description

The Clos Lentiscus estate has always been present in the Penedes area above Barcelona, an area famous for the production of Cava sparkling wines, but only since 2001, thanks to the Avino brothers, did they begin to market the wines. The winery’s real revolution lies in preserving old native varieties almost at risk of extinction such as Sitges and Sumoll malvasia, where plants from the 1930s are cultivated with biodynamic principles. In addition, natural winemaking takes place in the cellar as well, eliminating additives and the use of sulfur dioxide. The winery is located within the Garraf Natural Park, a waterfront area rich in sandy soils and fossil organic matter giving the wines unique brackish notes.
