Classic Barolo is produced by blending different plots with an average age of 50 years all located in the commune of La Morra such as the Rive, Roncaglia and Rocchettevino vineyards. For the first time in 2018 the grapes also come from the historic family plot “Capalot,” mentioned and used only for single vineyard Barolo. This choice is given because of a cooler vintage giving the wines more finesse and slimmer tannins. This Barolo can be called an outlier because of the prestigious location of the vineyards, especially Capalot, giving a wine of great drinkability yes, but with great structure for being a simple entry level Barolo. Young and enterprising, Alberto Burzi belongs to a new generation of winemakers who have taken up the legacy of their predecessors. His story began in 2010 after graduating in oenology in Alba, when he decided to take the reins of the winery, renewing it in image and ideas by retracing his family roots. Located in the commune of La Morra, inside the heart of the prestigious Barolo area, the small property has 7 hectares divided into several parcels among which Capalot stands out, one of the most important Cru in the area, with vineyards ranging from 25 to 80 years of age. It immediately became known for its lively and innovative style that is based on the triune link cellar, vineyard and nature in which the utmost respect for the environment without the use of harmful elements prevails. Maniacal in detail with manual harvests and selection accompanied by modern techniques during vinification to achieve the highest quality steeped in terroir. Wines with stories to tell, with a powerful territorial imprint, multifaceted in elegance and innate fragrance. A true joy for wine lovers.
